  Museum audience research

The CCSTI Grenoble cultivates and promotes the study of museum audience in all its dimensions: satisfaction measurement, speech analysis, representation study, evaluation of participation devices, etc. This allows us to keep a permanent attention to the visitors in order to better answer their expectations and to better converse with them. Our objective is double: to enlarge our audience and to establish audience loyalty, therefore building cultural practices for the largest audience on a long-term basis.

The NANOTECHNOLOGIES exhibition is especially suitable for audience research since it integrates devices which favour audience expression, in the 3rd and 4th units. In the 3rd unit, the interactive device « homo technicus » gives each visitor the opportunity to answer a multimedia questionnaire in order to draw a profile of their technology use. In the 4th unit, the writing desk invites each visitor to express his reaction and thoughts on the development of nanotechnologies. These two devices enable to collect data and to start an analysis work.

Moreover, we have implemented an audience research based on the visitors of the exhibition in Grenoble. This research has been spread in two steps: first, each visitor was invited to fill out a questionnaire and then some of these visitors have been interviewed by students from the Sociology Master’s Program of the Pierre Mendès-France University in Grenoble.
