The fourth area immerses visitors
into the reflective dimensions of nanotechnologies. Sciences and techniques
are also the products of a culture. As others before them, nanotechnologies
reactivate a sometimes ancestral imaginary and create both fears and
hopes. They arise real questions in terms of potential risks for our
health and the environment.
How can citizens be associated to the control
of nanotechnologies development ? The debate is open and everyone can
contribute. |
Through some reminders taken from science-fiction, the visitor
can put into perspective the fantastical speeches associated to
nanosciences research. Then, the visitor is immersed in practical problems
: health and environment related risks. He has the choice to consult
contradictory viewpoints and therefore to weigh the arguments of each
experts. He is then invited to express his own opinion : his viewpoint
is posted and becomes an integral part of the exhibition debate.
