The third unit shows that
nanotechnologies have been empirically used by nature and men for
a long time. But above all : some applications are already present
in everyday life ! Cosmetics, tyres, scratchproof paints, self-cleaning
window panes, tennis rackets…
These
uses have an important impact on the economy and will have an increasing
impact on the human being when completely integrated in uses in a
relatively close future |
In this unit, the visitor
gets to know the use of nanostructural proprieties in nature: by
the blue Morpho Cypris butterfly, the gecko and the lotus. Several
glass cabinets present already commercialised « nano-inside » applications.
The
macroeconomic impact as well as the socio-economic influence of nanotechnologies
are demonstrated. The visitor is then confronted to the multiple
possibilities of future uses in his everyday life. Many applications
are presented through a prospective scenario.
